Remove Wax Buildup From Furniture
Combine 1 quart white vinegar with 1 4 cup cream of tartar.
Remove wax buildup from furniture. This slightly acidic solution will help remove wax and silicone buildup on wood tables. Dust the furniture with a dry microfiber cloth because dust and dirt residue can scratch the wood finish when you scrub the polish from the surface. Wax build up is a pain to remove from furniture but not impossible.
Mix a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water. Allow to sit for a few minutes to loosen old wax and wipe clean. Dampen a soft cotton lint free cloth with the solution and use it to wipe the surface of the table to break down and remove the wax buildup.
Since liquids damage wood it is important to work quickly use as little liquid as possible and dry thoroughly after rinsing. Work in small sections over the entire wood surface until the dull wax buildup is removed. If the waxy buildup is stubborn pour wood furniture cleaner to a clean cloth either straight from the bottle or diluted with hot water.
To remove wax buildup in wood furniture s crevices dip a soft brush like an old toothbrush in the cleaning solution below and scrub rinse immediately and buff dry. Combine one part white vinegar with one part. Apply this liquid to the wax finish in the direction of the grain and rub gently to remove the wax build up.
Rub onto the furniture following the wood grain.
